Be it the Unabomber’s cabin, the Ka’ab in Mecca, or a double-wide Peerless mobile home, everything was translated and misinterpreted with simplistic abandon: a litany of the humble and the ridiculous, the dramatic and tragic. What intrigue is at work when the front gate to Buchenwald ends up looking like Ford Motor Company’s Corporate Headquarters, or the holiest site in Mecca is a dead ringer for a cardboard box? |
