"Labor and Delivery: the Merits of Browsing" can
be viewed from a number of vantage points. Taking the stairs
enroute to the Children's Reading Room, the pieces visually
overlap along the 113' wall. From the ground level, the
objects hang like big trophies ten feet above the floor.
They can be seen from above by looking over the mantle that
runs along the half-wall on the second floor, and they can
be seen at eye level by standing on the sidewalk outside
of the building and looking through the windows.
At night, the lights inside the silk-covered pieces remain
turned on where they glow like nightlights.
